The current design
You are currently viewing the first layout made for this site eversince I took over. I suck at using good color schemes but I was aiming for a grey-ish blue one. Anyways I took pictures I had in my Oilers folder (where I save pictures of them that I like) on my computer. That folder really should be named Gagner & Horcoff as half of the pictures there feature them. The rest are either Hemsky, Stoll, Gilbert, Cogliano and some others. I wanted to use pictures that show them being happy and whatnot. I managed to find one of Hemsky and Gagner fitting my description (sure the Gagner one was taken at the All Star weekend but he was wearing an Oiler jersey so ha) so I decided to use them. Of course I needed 2 more pictures to complete the layout and being the person I am I could not not use a picture of Horcoff so 3 down, 1 to go. The last picture is a team picture (well close enough) and yes it has Gagner in it. Yay. Rest is self explanatory. I wanted to make a fairly decent layout and obviously I failed so I made headers, a striped background and a background for the blockquotes. Plus 50 codes. (I've never made that much after making that much for Horcoff's fanlisting) Layout was designed in both Paint Shop Pro X and Photoshop 7. Coded in Notepad and uploaded to the server via Filezilla. The images were found at the Edmonton Oilers website. And if you're wondering.. I'm writing this while I have cramps so it's crappy.
The footer features (obviously) Andrew Cogliano, Sam Gagner, Tom Gilbert, Ales Hemsky, Shawn Horcoff and Jarret Stoll. I didn't know what else to put in the footer and I didn't want my usual disclaimer there so I just slapped a few pictures there.
Just a note: the pictures were edited using overlays, color balance and a few color layers. Just saying because I know how they don't look edited at all but hey if they weren't then the pictures wouldn't be as shiny and bright. Wanted to say that because I don't want visitors to think I didn't put alot of effort into making the layout. Really, I hate seeing layouts that look like it's just a picture found on google slapped onto the layout with a colored box. It bothers me. >_>
